LOL, finally found some time and some effort to do this blog entry! YAYYY!
So ok, a lot of weird things had happened this month and I have to pick which one to work on first! But lets start week per week since May is still not done and I have to pick which one is which. Work wise, the whole thing is currently on my usual lazy pace since its holiday season in the US and in Europe. But I still get work every once in a while so its all but a matter of me being lucky to get some work.
May 5 – Mum’s choir performed in our local parish for a mini concert. I have to admit my mum’s choir is becoming better each time. Played the photographer for the whole thing :D
May 13- Election in the country! My second one since 2010 and well, this time its my brother’s first time to vote. Amusingly, he was not in the same voting hall as the rest of the family. I wonder why. Anyway, as for my choices for this years election, well I decided to go for the platforms and the age coz seriously, if you looked at the list of people running for office, most of them are reelectionists and old! Some of my bets didnt win coz of the usual Philippine politics scenario so heck with that. Just got pissed some of the questionable candidates won… sadly thats how Philippine politics goes.
May 22 – Gotten my salary so happiness with me shoppin! But first I had to do some family traditions as I went to Antipolo where the Our Lady of Good Voyage Shrine resides. Its been a while since I’ved been there with my folks and as always, we got lost. Hahaha! Also went to Baclaran Shrine as one of dad’s places to go to each wednesday for the Novena and yet again, another lost expedition in Taguig since we decided to sniff around SM Aura. We found it but had to turn and turn around the area since our GPS did not have that place updated yet. It was ok, but I guess since its still new, most of the stores would have been flocked by shoppers if they were open. A few restaus to enjoy too, but i guess Serendra and Market Market would fill that gap. Did like the fact Uniqlo and Forever 21 had big areas there. Unfortunately I was not able to check them out personally as we were a bit hungry by the time we reached that part. My brother found the joys of Chateau de France, a macaron brand that he now loves. Later on, he’d worship something else. And we also got to walk around High Street and Market Market… it was a long day for me because before we even left our home that morning, I have not slept due to work… sigh.
Chateau de France is gonna open around SM Supermalls in the next few months, located in their supermarket section. Currently it has a branch in SM Makati and SM Aura, soon on SM Las Pinas (according to the cashier who served us) so check it out! They also serve small and big macarons in several flavors
Alas… I also died when I saw the Lamborghini display when we walked around High Street… Oh Gallardo… why are you all alone there? And why are you not red!
May 29 – Manila bound yet again yesterday as I went to meet up Heather :D She’s a close family friend of ours, mostly on the side of my sister and my Uncle’s family in Chicago. Makati is always so traffic XD Talked a bout a lot of things when I got to her place and got most of our loot from the US. Gotten myself a new Skullcandy, which is my second one from the US since my Pinstripe one was self-owned by my lil bro so I never gotten it replaced. Finally saw TWG Tea Cafe with my friend Abdul, who gaped with me with the prices and the various tea selections offered in the place… eventually I gotten myself some loose leafs which were also not that cheap… as expected of the known Singaporean brand.
After eating a quick bite in FamilyMart (I recommend it for those who want a different atmosphere from 7/11 or Mini Stop), headed off to Trinoma for a quick haircut before heading off. I got my brother macarons again, this time from TWG and well, lets just say he’s no longer sure which brand to prefer. I wonder what will happen if i got him either Laduree or Pierre Herme… hmmm.
Speaking of which, I still have yet to contact my friend in France about it… off to e-mailing!
On a last note, Dan Brown’s new book is out and wow, the comments of my fellow countrymen about the book claiming Manila as “The Gates of Hell” was quite interesting and expected. I personally have not read the book yet, although I purchased it when I visited SM Aura. I think its important for people not to immediately react on things about books especially those of fiction. Nonetheless, it is up to the people themselves to decide whether or not they would give that much attention on something or believe it.
