How many days left Manila before we hear ONE OK ROCK Live? Just 13 more days! The anticipation is brewin! The waiting is killin’! Thoughts a brewin’! I have to admit I am so stoked to see these chaps and the people I have met throughout this journey for the first time and I know you guys are waiting too! But of course, if you want to join our madness on the big day, all you got to do is buy a ticket! Right now, a few tickets are still left so better hurry before you miss out on all the love!
However, before SM Mall of Asia Arena gets flooded by ONE OK ROCK fans from across Asia, let’s take a gander back on the history of the band’s live performances. Every great band has started somewhere and what better way to see their growth than to check out their live performances. ONE OK ROCK has already celebrated their 10 years in the business and they have done many lives in the past and they are still going strong. With each live, they evolve to something more. But, how exactly did they change? For this review, we will check their growth as seen in the live DVDs of their performances.

The Review:
Ah! I found this show of ONE OK ROCK surreal to watch! This was the last live I saw for this review and it was surreal to see just how much ONE OK ROCK changed from this live to the last (and see Alex with them). Taka, Toru, Ryota and Tomoya all look so young! (TOMOYA DOESN’T LOOK CHO-KAWAII! I PREFER HIM WITH HIS MIDORI HAIR!). From the first few minutes of the live, it was clear that the band members were still coming into grips with the gravity of their status and the immense pressure I imagine in performing in such a jampacked audience. However, come show time, the band comes to a different face and we see them give their all. It was still a little tame to the ONE OK ROCK we know now but you get to see slivers already in this live. VFX wise, it was alright, simple but it gets the crowd wild! It is really one of a kind to see this live, especially if you want to discern ONE OK ROCK as a five member group to the ONE OK ROCK as a four member group. There is quite a huge difference.

Review:
For any Japanese or even Western act, Nippon Budokan validates their hold in the hearts of the Japanese since this is the stage everyone would wish to perform into. For ONE OK ROCK, this pretty much proves that no matter what obstacles they faced and with them now as a foursome, the fans still stuck to them through thick and thin. Nippon Budokan was one jampacked location! Crowd intensity remains high! The band is also comfortable with the crowd and we’re getting the band that gave us these super cool hits! VFX is also up a notch with this live and we’re seeing the VFX signatures they have for Answer is Near, Kanzen Kankaku Dreamer and Wherever you are. WHY AM I NOT HERE!

Review:
While I havent seen the documentary with this live just yet, I have seen the live and I must say the band here was stunned since they got Yokohama Arena sold out! From Nippon Budokan to this other landmark to the Japanese music industry! Truly, ONE OK ROCK has gone up with this concert! We start to see the eyecatchy VFX in this concert and the unified fan movements for Answer is Near (Team Arena!!!!!) and Let’s Take it Someday! Fans also show their love for ONE OK ROCK as they listen to every beat without cameras and such. The band here is in the beat and in this live, you could see just overwhelmed they are with the turnout for the concert. I love how Toru said he couldn’t hear himself with the crowd intensity and say he could even see those from the upper sections. I think if the band will do MC in Manila, it will be one of the best ever. We also see how unified the band is in terms of the theme of their clothing and their now shifting images unlike in This is my Budokan where you still see some randomness in their clothes and image XD Starting a trend you guys? LOL.

These three lives highlights that the band constantly grows and they are starting to find out their identity and I’m seeing the band we all come to love. Of course, this is not the end of this little review as we’re still going to take a gander on three more live takes.
