Konnichassuu!
Day 2 of #jetsettintokyo right here and pretty much this next one will have quite a lot of photos in it. In summary, we went around Shibuya, Harajuku and Ueno despite the super hot temperature Tokyo is in. Mei, you know how hot it is in Tokyo during these times but… what just happened?
Check the photos below!!!
Good morning Nippori. Yeap, this is the same view from the night photo in the previous entry. Down below is Nippori station.
Picture of APA TKP Nippori-Ekimae. Yeap, its a big hotel and from the station, you will definitely see it.
Our first stop for the day is Shibuya because we all woke up pretty late and agreed we should have early lunch first before we walk around. My sister was craving for sushi and there’s a good one in the area.
Since it was a bit early, we decided to kill time and headed (in this pic) to Tower Records Shibuya. On our way, we saw these Mario Karts roaming around. Best done with a group.
At Tower Records, my niece went googly eyes on these KPop displays. Her current obsession is EXO as seen in the last pic.
As far as my adorable nephew is concerned, he has no idea why I brought him to that strange world. LOL
Also went to check on some stuff as well. Here’s one of my favorite game albums. Huhuhu, why did you not finish this game Square Enix!
Almost did not play this during my trip.
Arashi display. They had a lot, as well as RADWIMPS.
During my stay, this book came out. Of course, as a supporter, I had to get one. I will be posting a review on this in the next entries (it will be a long one!)
Alas, this one has to have a space. Oddly, I couldn’t find the album section. My niece found this one for me because i was trying to find the book on the previous photo.
After a jaunt at Disney Store, we found ourselves in our lunch area, Uobei Sushi. As you can see here, each plate (Save the special menu) is 108 yen (tax is included). Convert it to peso, its 54 pesos per plate. How many can you get!?
Here’s one of my orders, salmon with cheese and pepper. Its actually pretty good.
The sushi is delivered to your place through a conveyor, much like Genki Sushi (a sister company).
After 1 hour, this is my spoils of war. Hahaha, i mostly stopped myself to this number because we were going to walk. Can’t walk on a full stomach. Most of the stuff I ate were salmon and shrimp.
Took this one for my friend Jumi since she loves Evangelion. Back to the train we go!
Next stop was this place. We had to add this to our itinerary because my little nephew hasn’t been here yet. We also decided to pass by because we had some omamoris from this place.
Cooled us up despite the long walk.
When I was last here, these parts were under construction as part of its restoration before the Olympics. Its cool they were able to retain its old look despite the fact its brand new.
My nephew was asleep when we walked to the place but here he is wide awake! Sooooo adorable!
Off to this place for some snacks!
Here’s our first purchase, Tapioca Snow Ice. My niece and sister said its pretty good.
My casualty is Calbee Plus! I was not able to take a picture of my newly cooked Calbee with Ice Cream which my niece found completely weird but hey, it is delicious. They also sell specialty Calbees here and souvenirs for anyone who is looking for souvenirs.
I wonder what time we should go to this place and not see this many people.
As it was nearing dinner, we decided to have take out from Ameyoko since it was near our place. My sister was still full thus our decision to do the take out (me too. Sushi was too much!)
One of the places we visited and purchased from is Arirang Hotdog. My niece wanted to try their cheesedogs after seeing it online. Apparently it was enough to get my niece full for dinner. They allow you to choose your dips and flavors so best check it out when you visit.
Also went to check this place for souvenirs. Its one of the famous places to visit when in Ameyoko. They sell cheap snacks and goodies which you will never find anywhere else. I did get some for my family here.
Oddly, we also saw this temple. Didn’t go up because we were exhausted and we did just visit another temple.
Since I was still full, I decided to just get a manju and shrimp dumplings from this place. The manju was pretty good.
We also found this popular place in Ueno. Here, you can get a bargain for chocolates and all sorts of souvenirs for just 1000 yen. Sadly they weren’t doing a bargain when we passed by. It was interesting to see though.
We passed by Marion Crepes since my sister was craving for crepe even if she was full from our sushi escapade.
Back to our Nippori home! And yes, that’s our hotel from the train station.
The poor state of my manju after we had to travel back home. Hahaha.
The day wasn’t over for me as my high school friend Judes, who has been staying in Tokyo with her husband came to see me. She treated me to a family restaurant near Nippori Station (I forgot the name damn it!). I ordered this one because I thought it was light considering I had dinner before going to see her. I admittedly found the pasta taste weird but I suppose it is an acquired taste. It was great catching up with my friend. We never were apart all these years from our talks and we did do some gossip too! HAAHAH!
Went back home after that because we have a late day the next day. That one is going to be fun to share to you guys!
