Konnichassu!

Well I have been very silent in this place and I do apologize for that. 2021 has proven that it was not done with me and has brought in some crazy spiels even today, the last day of the year.

This year, in summary, is pretty much COVID, politics and the space world on steroids. COVID has made sure we don’t forget it and even mutated to a very annoying Delta and now Omicron variant. Vaccinations went on overdrive and I recently gotten my booster after getting my original shot in June. The side-effect of the booster was interesting and knocked me out for two days. It was a very clear indication it was working its magic in making my immune system stronger… it was just so weird to have gotten two different side-effects in one go. But, I was better on the 3rd day and even gotten to do some final errands for the year.

Right now, it doesn’t look like COVID will be away next year and if does, it is hopefully going to be a nuisance that you need to counter with vaccines. Hopefully though 2022 will be a bit better. All fingers are crossed.

Space race has also kicked off this year with SpaceX doing some crazy launches, then Blue Origin and Virgin Galactic. Ah space, it is the next frontier. NASA even made the final splash this year with the Webb telescope launch. It will be interesting to see what life was like back in the olden days before all of us.

Politics is politics no matter where you go and definitely won’t’ be changing even in the coming year. However, it has gradually shifted in the US, Afghanistan, Myanmar and even in Africa. COVID restrictions have also caused chaos in Europe too where the Omicron outbreak seems to be growing. 2022’s incoming elections here in this country will be an interesting one but right now, the potential candidates winning the seats are going to make heads turn.

There are other things that happened outside my little haven here in the country and the most recent one is the disaster in Visayas and Mindanao because of Typhoon Rai. Its like a throwback of last year’s November typhoon that got our end of the country in pieces. I’ved been to some of the places that got hit hard like Cebu and Bohol and I do hope they will be able to recover. We did so when we got hit thanks to everyone’s help and we’re helping out in our end now.

On a personal note, hmm, well, things swung for me in 2021 and its a bit of both. I’ved lost a great friend and classmate this year who will be missed greatly, I’ved had the usual family woes, bouts of illness (thankfully not COVID) and the usual Mei-gotta-stop-spending-so-you-can-go-somewhere talk. But, I also gotten a great project or two to look forward to for 2022 and some plans that hopefully won’t be affected by COVID again… stupid COVID.

I won’t be making a resolution this coming year. I always end up not following it anyway so hahaha, there’s that.

May 2022 be a good one for all and can we please be able to move again now? Might make a weird post in the coming days just because hahaha.
