Konnichassu!!

I am on a roll as I need to get a move on before I make some December updates and focus on Interscape… its been a long time! I also like to keep things positive even if in other parts of the globe, everything is going so wrong. While I don’t post about it, know you are not alone.

Anyway, back to the post. This one is a combination of days because this is the Niagara leg of my trip. You’ll find out below how it went and why I opted to combine it to one post.

So, let’s begin!

Day 7 was actually just the crew driving 10 or so hours from Montreal to Niagara which was in the other end of Canada. It was a boring but smooth ride because the expressways in Canada are actually quite maintained unlike back in the homeland. Hahaha! My nephew didn’t like the whole travel bit because he was stuck in the car seat and would often get his tablet cut from the net thanks to the choppy net.

We stopped by a rest stop in the middle of the trip because we were all hungry. I managed to get my hands on Timbits! Unfortunately, they only had two flavors but what the heck!

Brunch was another first because it is Popeyes. We do have it in the homeland but since I am mostly in the province, no chance to trying it out. Loved the chicken though! Could just eat it and not worry about rice.

We arrived at Niagara around 5 pm or so and we stayed at Quality Hotel Fallsview Cascade. Perfect choice actually coz they have this sick view of the other side, AKA the US, then some bits of the falls.

It was not a good choice the next day because of the walk to and from the falls.

Untitled

We’re also close to Skylon Tower which is one of the highest viewpoints in the area. I had thoughts about trying it.

Untitled

Had dinner (early) in the nearby mall. They have this great display right here.

Untitled

My dinner of choice? Burger King. I was actually amused when I was ordering this because I heard the staff speak in Filipino. So tempted to speak back but haha, I didn’t let myself do it. Burger was nothing to talk about. Fries was good though.

Untitled

The next day, we walked from our hotel to see this wonder. It was a painful walk for me because I was wearing flops and the closer you approach the Falls, it was slippery.

Untitled

Here’s the other side, the other falls and the bridge that connects Canada to the US.

Untitled

See that boat with people wearing red raincoats? I did that too! My sister took most of my shots which is on her account but man! We all got wet since the boat went under the falls. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and man, I may have indeed entered US territory while we navigated those cold waters. Did say hello to the other boats doing the same thing.

Untitled

We then went to Clifton Hill because thats the other major highlight to go to. It’s an amusement park-slash-restaurant area that is in a hill… which was a mistake for me coz the incline was… ugh! I was so out of shape so I regret it earnestly. But at least, i can tick it off my to-go-to list next time. Haha!

We had late lunch at Applebees and I had this burger. That Five Guys burger truly made a mark on me.

Some photos of Clifton Hill and yes, we went to Beavertails again. Hahaha!

On the way back… after another agonizing walk, I said to my sister that I would like to try out Skylon Tower even if my legs kept saying no already. She was both amused and bewildered that I would go to the scary tower because the elevators were actually on the side of the tower. But, she let me be.

Here’s my ticket as proof! If you are going to visit Skylon Tower, they do have several rates for their tickets. Some will allow you access to the place even at night, while others will let you dine on top. You can check out the rates here if you plan to visit.

Inside the Tower are some gift shops, some restaurants and even an arcade. When I did go, it was close to the night reservations so it was pretty empty.

Here are some of the shots I took on top of Skylon. I loved it and it was so cold up there given that it looked like it was gonna rain. But man! Nice experience!!

Untitled

Bye bye Skylon. The walk back was painful coz I was reminded as I walked back to the hotel how in pain I was. Hahaha.

After that, my niece and nephew had a dip in the hotel pool (which was fortunately covered coz the winds around that time were soooo cold!). Unfortunately for me, I was told in advance to join them so I did. Weird to say I swam during my trip in Canada. Lol!

Dinner was Papa Johns (which we also have here in the homeland) then Brisk! I love this lemonade. Annoyingly, the vendo machine I got the Brisk from mislabeled its offerings because I wanted Iced Tea but it gave me this. I need to horde these on my next trip.

Untitled

The night was also closed by fireworks! Till the next time Niagara!

The next day, we traveled to Toronto and before we did, we passed by an Outlet Store where we bought some pieces for me to bring home for the family. Here’s a photo of my lunch, which was this thick noodles and some hakaw.

Not much photos for our arrival in Toronto but it was a rainy one and yet again, we almost got lost on the way there. Hahaha!

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

The next post will be a long one but it will cover Day 10-13 of my Toronto experience. Day 14-15 will also be combined as that is my trip back home.

Looking at these photos makes me want to go back again but next year, lol, we will see.
